There's a new Melbourne Airport Hotel in town!

As a massive fan of PARKROYAL hotels, I am so excited that PARKROYAL is coming back to Melbourne. I travel frequently to Melbourne and can't wait to check out the new hotel in Melbourne Airport. Here's a fun fact for you: Did you know that Melbourne Airport is also known as Tullamarine Airport here in Australia?

As a massive F1 fan, I just hope that Melbourne continues to host an F1 race in the coming years. I will definitely be there to cheer Vettel on. With PARKROYAL Melbourne conveniently located near the Melbourne track, it's a good choice for those who can afford that little bit more for comfort and convenience to enjoy some Formula racing.

In the meantime, I've just found out that they are already having offers and promotions for accomodation in Melbourne: http://www.parkroyalhotels.com/en/hotels/australia/melbourne/parkroyal/index.html

Are you as excited as me about the launch of the new PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport hotel? Happy with the offers and promotions available for this hotel? Be sure to leave a message in the Comments section!

Here's the press release announcing the launch of the new hotel in Melbourne Airport:

PARKROYAL, one of Australia’s most fondly remembered hotel brands, will return to Melbourne with the rebranding of Hilton Melbourne Airport to PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport on April 1, 2011.

This will be the third PARKROYAL hotel in Australia for Pan Pacific Hotels Group, which brought the PARKROYAL brand back to Australia in November last year.

The opening also marks a return of the PARKROYAL brand, which was founded in Melbourne, Australia in 1962, to its birth city. The PARKROYAL portfolio is now owned and operated by Pan Pacific Hotels Group and consists of hotels, resorts and serviced suites which span Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar and Australia.

Located at the doorstep of the domestic and international airport and linked directly to the terminal by skybridge, PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport offers convenience to both business and leisure travellers alike. The 276 spacious guest rooms feature city skyline, airport and mountain views. The hotel is also a popular business and conference destination with 16-state-of-the-art meeting and function rooms conveniently located on one level.

“We are delighted to bring PARKROYAL back to its birth city. Visitors to Melbourne can look forward to a refreshed and updated PARKROYAL brand that emphasizes authentic local experiences and friendly and unobtrusive hospitality,” said Pan Pacific Hotels Group President and Chief Executive A. Patrick Imbardelli. “Guests can look forward to PARKROYAL’s unique offerings in more cities as we continue to expand the brand’s presence in Australia.”

The PARKROYAL brand has recently undergone an exciting revitalization, which will see each PARKROYAL hotel reflecting the spirit and individuality of the location, enabling authentic encounters through creative touches, local tastes and connections to the community.

The opening of PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport along with the recent introduction of two PARKROYAL properties, PARKROYAL Darling Harbour, Sydney and PARKROYAL Parramatta in Sydney, further drives Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s aggressive growth strategy underway in Australia.

Guests can now make their bookings for PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport via the PARKROYAL website parkroyalhotels.com/melbourne and PARKROYAL toll-free reservations globally.

Now, when you guys say "Melbourne", is it proper when you say it Mel-Burn or Mel-Born?

My aussie friends laugh everytime I pronounce it phonetically as "Mel-Born".
